After the wine experience, you should visit Braga, considered the "Portuguese Rome", one of the oldest Christian cities in the world, with more than 2000 years of history. In a city extremely connected with religion, you will visit the historic centre with its numerous monuments and points of interest such as the Cathedral, Igreja dos Congregados, Santa Bárbara Garden and Theatro Circo.
Check-in at Carmo’s Boutique Hotel. A romantic and surreal scenario, a true boutique hotel in the style of Salvador Dalí, as Arjan Mulder said. This hotel stands out for the recovery of tradition, history, sophistication and respect for the Environment.
End of day.
With the beautiful Ponte de Lima landscape, recharge your batteries with an amazing breakfast in the Hotel.
You will have the opportunity to visit Ameal Wine & Tourism Terroir, one of the most charming wine producing estates in the Vinho Verde region. Finish you tour with a commented two wine tasting (including one of the 5 best Portuguese white wines), accompanied by light appetizers in the tasting room with view to the vineyard, or in the garden.
After the wine experience, a visit to Ponte de Lima is a must-do. The Roman bridge that gave its name to this very ancient and very beautiful town, which received its first charter in 1125 from D. Teresa, the mother of the first king of Portugal. In the centre of a rich farming region where the famous Vinho Verde is produced, the greatest number of manor houses and palaces are to be found.
End of day.
Enjoy your last breakfast in the Vinho Verde region.
After checking-out, visit the beautiful Guimarães historical centre, considered World Heritage Site by UNESCO and European Culture Capital in 2012. The historic center, the Guimarães Castle, the Paço dos Duques de Bragança and the São Miguel Chapel are a must-visit.
After the visit, we will take you to Quinta da Aveleda. The history of the Quinta da Aveleda estate is lost in time, but there are countless records of this estate after the 16th century. Aveleda is a name which spans several generations. The first records of the sale of bottled wine date back to 1870, with Manuel Pedro Guedes. Aside from its important architectural heritage, the Quinta da Aveleda estate is also appreciated for its parks and gardens, where rare species of trees flourish, some of which have been around for over two hundred years. Distinguished with the international Best of Wine Tourism award, in the "Architecture, Parks and Gardens” category. Currently the Quinta da Aveleda is the largest Vinho Verde exporting company.
