Charming and Timeless tour.

Lisbon is not only one of the most cosmopolitan, warmer capitals of Europe, it is also a historical wine-producing region. You start with a foot in the future, visiting a wine estate with the most advanced techniques and equipment.

Midway between the sea and the mountains, you'll have lunch at Quinta do Gradil, an old favorite of the monarchy. Still, Gradil's mix of tradition and contemporary elegance is hardly matchable.

Last but not least, the charming, medieval village of Óbidos will take your breath away. A walled town that is full of churches, cobblestone streets, and a regional drink named Ginginha. You can't go wrong with this one.

Starting in Lisbon, with a Private Driver, you will have the opportunity to discover two of the best wine producers in the region.

The first stop will be at AdegaMãe. Located in the Parish of Ventosa, has an area of approximately 40 ha. (98 ac.) devoted to vines and a production capacity of 1.2 million liters per year, thus giving rise to a full range of wines. AdegaMãe is a temple erected to wine and the worship associated with it. It is a Cellar of the future, equipped with the most advanced equipment for optimal production regarding its resources. You will have the opportunity to discover the property through a guided visit. Indulge in a tapas-style lunch, including codfish ceviche and traditional sweet bean pastry, and a wine tasting of 6 wines.

Then, you will discover Quinta do Gradil. This is one of the oldest estates of Cadaval and the Lisbon Wine Region, it has secular historical landmarks. It is thought that the Marquis of Pombal would have acquired the Quinta do Gradil in 1760, although the earliest references date back to 1492, the year of the document that D. Martinho de Noronha received from King João II, the donation letter of the jurisdiction and rents of the Cadaval County and Quinta do Gradil. Located about 50 km from Lisbon, between the sea and the mountains, its landscape invites quietness and harmony between the wines and nature. Enjoy a guided visit with wine tasting of Wines Quinta do Gradil Selection.

The tour continues with a Drive/walking tour in Óbidos. Located on high ground near the Atlantic coast, Óbidos has had strategic importance in the territory. It had already been settled before the Romans arrived in the Iberian Peninsula, and the town prospered after being chosen by the royal family. King Dinis offered it to his wife, Queen Isabel, in the 13th century, and it became part of Casa das Rainhas (Queens’ Estate), which improved and enriched it throughout the various dynasties. This is one of the main reasons for the high concentration of churches in this small place. You will find a well-preserved castle within the walls and a maze of streets and white houses that are a delight to stroll amongst. Along with the Manueline porticoes, the colorful window boxes, and the small squares, many fine examples of religious and civil architecture from the town’s golden days provide a host of reasons for visiting. You can't leave without tasting the famous Ginjinha de Óbidos

Drop-off in Lisbon.
