Day 1: Discover the Douro Valley
An English-speaking Chauffeur will be waiting for you in a deluxe vehicle at the airport. Be welcome to Portugal and enjoy the scenic 2-hour road trip to the Douro Valley.
Check-in at Six Senses Douro Valley. Located in the beautiful Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Six Senses Douro Valley is touched by the romance of 19th-century architecture and is happily married with the contemporary interiors that reflect the inimitable style of the Six Senses.
Then, you will enjoy a unique Chef's Table experience at Six Senses Restaurant. A very personal journey of food and wine. An open cooking station is complete with a wood-fired oven for bread baking and a Josper Grill. Join a small group at a 10 courses meal that is prepared and hosted by the Chef, right before your eyes. Follow the process and complete the experience with selected accompanying wines. This is the greatest gastronomic option at the Six Senses Douro Valley that is celebrating the region.

Day 2: Workshop
Wake up to the beautiful Douro landscape and recharge your batteries with a fantastic breakfast at the hotel.

You will discover Quinta da Pacheca Cellar. The Quinta stands out for having been the first to bottle wine under its own brand. The first reference to the Quinta is in a document dated 17th April 1738, where it is called "the Pacheca". Enjoy the guided visit to the Vineyards and cellar with a wine tasting of Douro and Port wines.
After the visit, delight yourself with the delicacies that the Wine House Hotel has for your Lunch, led by the Chef of the Quinta da Pacheca Wine House. You will have a Traditional Cuisine Workshop. With this activity, you are expected to interact with the Chef participating in the preparation of the chosen option, learning or developing your knowledge of the Portuguese culture through gastronomy. Enjoy the tasty labor of love you just performed.
Then, you will enjoy a cultural break in Lamego. The culture, architecture, heritage, historical center justify a visit. You should visit Lamego Museum, an astounding collection of ancient art and artifacts, including a fully reconstructed chapel dripping with gold, is displayed within the walls of an 18th-century bishop’s palace. Among the many highlights are the set of paintings by one of Portugal’s most renowned painters, Grão Vasco, 16th century Flemish tapestries that depict the Greek legend of Oedipus and colorful 17th Century panels Azulejos (painted tiles) and Lady of Remedies Shrine in Lamego. From one of the central avenues in Lamego, climb to the top of the hill up an imposing baroque staircase with 686 steps ending in a shrine built in the rocaille style in the mid-eighteenth century for the worship of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, although it was not completely finished until 1905. The same Nicolau Nasoni who painted the cathedral ceilings designed some of the baroque works that decorate this monument.
The next stop will be at Quinta do Vallado. The cellar that combines the latest technology with high-quality architecture is one of the highlighted places to visit in the Douro Valley. The 70 ha. (172 ac.) of the Quinta do Vallado vineyards are mostly based on the slopes of schist soil, facing south and west, allowing an optimal maturation of the grapes, profiting from the Mediterranean climate. Quinta do Vallado and its leaders, João Ferreira Álvares Ribeiro, Francisco Ferreira and Francisco Olazabal, all descendent of Dona Antónia, have reached a very high level, recognized by several national and international entities. Day 3: Renowned Quintas in the Douro Valley

The visit to Quinta do Crasto and Quinta Nova is one of the Highlights of this Tour.
You will discover Quinta do Crasto. Out of 1,500 wineries nominated around the world for the World’s Best Vineyard, Quinta do Crasto was selected as the #4 top vineyard worldwide. Enjoy a traditional lunch prepared with products from the property. The meal starts with appetizers usually served in the swimming pool area (designed by architect Souto Moura winner of the Pritzker Prize in 2011) a water mirror with breathtaking scenery. The recipes belong to the family and the dishes are carefully harmonized. Visit the famous old vineyards, winery, and beautiful warehouse barrels, which matured table wines and premium Port wines. One of the biggest recognitions received by this Quinta came in 2008, when the magazine Wine Spectator considered the Quinta do Crasto Reserva Old Vines 2005 from vines with 70 years, the third-best wine in the world, giving it a 95 rating in one hundred points.
After this excellent experience, you will visit Quinta Nova Luxury Winery House "one of the 9 must-see wineries in the world" - distinguished by American Airlines. Precisely 250 years ago was harvesting their first grapes. This is, undoubtedly, one of the oldest wineries in the Douro region, producing Port wine for the estate and for many other plots of farmers and neighboring estates, given its large size. You will visit in detail all production of wines, the vineyard, the winery of 1764, the underground wine cellar and end your visit with a Reserve wine tasting.

Day 4: Private Douro River Cruise

You will enjoy a private Douro River Cruise in a sailboat. Douro-à-Vela offers you a new way of discovering the Douro, a region of heritage, landscapes, and wines that are unique in the world. Feel like a true sailor from ancient times on board the sailing ship Libertu's. Experience a moment of joy and connection with nature.
Your lunch is waiting at DOC Restaurant. Led by Michelin Starred Chef Rui Paula, with modern and creative gastronomy, with Douro flavors. It’s a place of enormous beauty, blending the grandeur of the vineyard-covered mountains and the serenity of the Douro river and the riverside villages, only awakened by the passage of the train. DOC serves as a window on this breathtaking scenery, making every meal a unique and special moment.
After lunch, we will take you to Real Companhia Velha's crown jewel and the largest wine-producing estate in the Douro region, Quinta das Carvalhas. The Vintage Tour is a visit to the Vineyards accompanied by the Quinta das Carvalhas Agricultural Engineer. Join this tour and appreciate direct contact with nature in the vines, Mediterranean forests, and gardens, alongside the people who work them. We offer the chance to see the Douro through the eyes of a local and to relish the greatness of the region with a detailed explanation of everything happening at the Quinta. The tour finishes at the wine shop for a tasting of the top Wines of Carvalhas partnered with a platter of cheeses and finishing with a glass of Port.

Day 5: Discover Porto - World Heritage Site
Wake up at the beautiful Porto landscape and enjoy a fantastic breakfast at the Hotel. Take your time to enjoy the fabulous hotel.
On your own, by foot, head towards the city of Porto through the Luiz I Bridge. Enjoy the amazing views and get to know the riverbanks of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia.
Lunch will be served at a very cozy restaurant, the Traça Restaurant. A restaurant inspired by the traditional cuisine of Iberian influence, with a retro decor based on materials such as iron, wood, and tile and using antique pieces and furniture, near the most important Heritage in the city.
Then, meet with the certified private Guide who will show you the highlights of the city of Porto, starting in the historic center we will take you to the Clérigos Tower, designed and decorated by the Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni, located near Lello Bookstore, considered by Lonely Planet one of the three most beautiful bookstores in the world. Across Aliados Avenue, you will find São Bento Railway Station, where you can observe its twenty thousand painted tiles, depicting historical landmarks. Continue to Santa Catarina street where is located the shopping district of the city center, the Bolhão Market, one of the oldest and most traditional markets in the city, and the Majestic Café, a place where you must stop, visit, and taste the famous “rabanada”. After enjoying one of the most beautiful views of the Douro River from Porto Cathedral, you will visit the Stock Exchange Palace of Porto, Palácio da Bolsa (Stock Exchange), the building with the most different architectural styles in Porto. Last but not least, you should visit the Church of Saint Francis that is the most prominent Gothic monument in Porto, is also noted for its outstanding Baroque inner decoration. Decorated with exuberant gilt woodwork or gold leaf “Talha dourada”.
After the walking tour, you will be transferred to the Hotel.

Day 6: Become a true connoisseur of the Port Wine history

By the riverside, within a 15-minute walking distance from the hotel, you will visit one of the oldest Port Wine Cellar in the world – Ferreira Cellars. Go back to the origins of the Portuguese soul and traditions and discover more about the Dona Antónia, the woman, in the man times, who gave Ferreira its name and prestige. For small groups, a private visit to the "Hall of Belongings of D. Antonia" and Ferreirinha Museum. Commented wine tasting of five Port Wines Ferreirinha in the "Old Bar", a tasting room with characteristics of the XIX century.
Then, head to the award-winner Graham's Port Lodge, from the Symington family. Graham’s is still a working cellar. No visit to the Lodge will pass without hearing the sounds of the Coopers’ hammers or seeing the lodge collecting samples for the tasting room. The building currently houses over 2,000 pipes (oak casks) and 40 tonnes and balseiros (large oak vats) of aging Port wine, as well as extensive cellars of Vintage Port, aging in bottle. Here you will have a private tasting in a vintage room. You will have a Tour and Tasting of Graham’s Six Grapes, 30 Years Old Tawny, and Vintage 2000.
Return to the riverbank, you will have a different and enriching experience at Calém Wine Cellars. The Calém brand distinguishes itself in the market for the exceptional quality of its wines, consistency, and its century-old history. Its cellars have a great reputation in the wine sector and they stand out as a world reference - One of the most visit cellars in the world. The two greatest icons of the Portuguese culture came together to provide you with a different and pleasant evening. You will have a guided tour of the Cálem Cellar and its ancient traditions, followed by a tasting of Port Wine: White and Special Reserve. Enjoy a Fado concert, with a male and a female voice, accompanied on the traditional way by a Portuguese Guitar and a Classic Guitar.
